Image Storage

Images are uploaded from your computer into a folder on the web server. Images should be called something descriptive so that they can be easily retrieved for use in the website, sub-folders can be used to store images of a specific type. File names should be all lower case and have no spaces (use _ or - instead).

To access the images folder area use the Filelist Module.

  1. File list moduleSelect the Filelist Module.
  2. Navigate the folder structure to the folder storing your images.
  3. Click the folder title to view the contents.

Images in use

The Filelist screen shows if an image is in use on a page.The column Ref to the right of the image name shows how many times the image is currently used in the website. Do not delete images that have a Ref of 1 or greater. Warning: some images may not have an Ref but are used by the template e.g., the header image or logo, these should not be deleted. Only delete images you are sure are not used.

  1. Select the Filelist Module
  2. Navigate the folder structure to the folder storing your images.
  3. Select the folder title to view the contents.
  4. Click the icon of the file to rename or delete.
  5. The pop-up menu will load. Select rename or delete.

  • Rename the file
  • Get information about the file size, type and number of times the file has been linked to by the website
  • Copy or cut ready to paste into another folder
  • Delete from the folder
