Linking to Files

The Text Editor is used to add a link to a file. Linking to a file makes it available to download from the website. When linking to a file it is recommended to include the file type and size in the link name so that users can decide if they want to download the file. e.g., download file (PDF 39kb)

Inserting a link to a file

  1. link to fileHighlight the text you want to be a link.
  2. Select the Insert Link button .
  3. A navigation box will open on screen. Select File.
  4. A File Folder Tree will appear on screen. Select the file title to link to.
  5. Select the Target, new window or in current window. If new window is selected you can also specify the size of the new window.

Changing and removing links

  1. Position the cursor into the link text.
  2. Select the Insert Link button.
  3. The current link is shown with a red flashing arrow. To edit the link select the new link.
  4. Select the Update Link button.
  5. To remove the link select Remove Link.
