Reusing Page Content

Whole sections of content can be reused around the website. The original content can be edited and changes are reflected on all the pages it is reused on. This feature demonstrates the value of planning how content is stored. Reused content can only be edited on the original source page.

An example of content re-use

A piece of content describing a new product has been written. The product is called YARE. The content element is added to the marketing departments new products page. The content is given the heading 'new product'.

The sales team want to use the content in their online sales briefing. Unfortunately they can't find the description because 'new product' is a vague label. The content item is re-labelled as 'New Product- YARE'.

The description is also picked up by the R&D team who can't believe that their as yet incomplete product is already for sale. They add the content element to their intranet news pages.

The marketing department realise the product isn't ready to advertise so they change the description to "Cming Soon - YARE" to reflect the product status. The updated description appears in the sales briefing page and on the R&D intranet.
