The Module Pane contains a list of the actions that can be carried out in the Editing Area. The modules that Editors see is determined by the permissions and extensions set for the website.
To keep the Module pane simple Editors have access to the commonly used modules i.e., page editing and file uploads only.
Web Modules are the heading for functions that relate to creating, editing and viewing pages.
There are several different modules but access to them depends on the setup of your website.
The Page Module is for editing of pages and page content. Selecting the Page module will show the page tree structure (architecture) of the website in the Navigation Pane. The tree structure shows the relationship of pages to each other. This is the most commonly used module.
The List module shows all the content records stored for the page. This is useful for viewing the records such as users, blog messages, addresses and shop stock. Some extensions save records on a particular page or in a system folder; the List Module is useful for viewing and editing these records. The List module is only visible on installations that use extra features of the system.
Other modules may be visible on installations that use extra features of the system.
Filelist ModuleThe File List Module is used to upload external files to the website. External files are typically images, PDF and DOC though other file types are acceptable (some files are blocked for security reasons).
After selecting this module the file structure and folders are shown. Selecting a folder will show you a list of the files stored within. Files are uploaded into the folder from the users computer. All uploads should be carried out using this module to ensure the file is logged in the database. File size limits are in place for the folders and for uploads.
